This game is so much fun and so funny! It’s basically hide and seek with a singing fish! It’s quite hilarious and great for all ages to play!

  2. Jill –

Got is as a present for a friend’s daughter. She is 5 and plays with our 7 and 9 year old. Great game that everyone can play. It makes a really nice gift as it is packaged well in a nice box, and has paper string padding in it that the fish is nestled in (it’s blue which is a cute touch). Comes already charged which is nice and the instructions to play are on the back. It is nice that it is rechargeable so you don’t have any batteries but dislike that that it uses a specific pin charger rather than a mini usbc or usb c charge ring cable which is used in most household electronics. You will have to keep it all together or risk tearing the house apart for a charging cable.

This fish comes in a fun little box. When you open it you’ll see the sardine in a box of those crinkled confetti papers. This is great for gifting! The sardine already has batteries. It’s really cute. Sound quality is great. Keeping the sardine quiet in the game is hard. It’s a great game for all hide and seek lovers!

My cousins and I used to play Sardines in my grandma’s house when we would visit for the summer. It’s basically a core memory, so when I saw this, I had to try it. My husband and I played together with our two boys. The fish bursts into (off-key) song at the worst times. You smack the fish to make it stop, which makes it more hilarious for some reason. You’re hiding crammed in a tight space with 3 other people, and you’re having to smack the fish to keep it quiet. It’s so funny but you have to try not to laugh, which is really hard. It’s great for kids who get bored hiding for too long, or younger kids who need a little hint to find the hiders. I love that the fish is chargeable, too!Cute game!!

  5. Allysa –

We bought this for our kids so we could have an active indoor game and…THEY LOVE IT! They think the singing fish is hilarious and cannot stop laughing with it. The game is super fun and simple. It is totally ridiculous in the best way but FUN!

  6. DJ –

this was a lot of fun. Directions are simple and the game can be taught in a minute – good for all aged kids. The “singing” of the fish is ridiculous – in a good way. The kids would laugh every time the fish started to sing. I nice twist on hide-and-seek.

  7. MistyriousCreations –

This is really fun if you can get several kids and or adults to play! Kept us laughing!

  8. Larry –

I am always looking for fun games for my grandkids and this one won’t disappoint! The singing fish really is a game changer for hide and seek! It also provide tons of laughter for kids as well as watching adults! It’s a great game for camping too! Highly Recommend only if you want a great laugh!

This is great fun to play with. The fish is of a good quality and well made. It is very colorful and beautiful. It is very fun to use in different ways. I’m currently using it with my three year old grandson. I hide the fish and he goes to find it. This is very entertaining for him and fun.

I ordered this for household game night and while it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, it made for a very wacky and memorable game night! The general function of the game is a reverse hide and seek. One person hides and each time someone finds them they cram into the hiding space with them “like sardines.” The catch of this game (I learned through this that Sardines is a not uncommon variant of hide and seek on playgrounds that had just missed me) is that you have this talking and singing plush fish hiding with you that periodically goes off to attract seekers to your hiding spot.It was a very wacky game night and a nice change from the more complex board games we typically play. I could see this being a huge hit in a classroom or playground setting as well!

Our 7-year-old daughter loves to play hide and seek, so we thought this would be a great way to add some challenge to the game. It came in a box that was much bigger than necessary. The fish is made of soft material and was able to easily charge. Once we learned exactly where to stroke the fish, we could get it to turn off pretty quickly. The fish lights up, sings, and moves its tail. The song it sings is very annoying. Our children loved the fish and brought it on a car ride. We quickly got tired of the song. While hiding, the fish goes off at random times, so you can never tell when you will need to be able to turn him off. Overall, the fish is an excellent addition to make the game more exciting.

  12. Becca –

As a kid, I always used to play Sardines. This game adds a fun element with the fish that glows, moves and talks. The person who is “IT” hides with the fish and then when you find the fish and person who is it you hide with them. The fun element is you never know when the fish is going to start singing and moving and give away your hiding spot! In order to quiet the fish down you have to tap her belly. This is not a super complicated game, but is a fun little addition to anyone looking for something to keep their kids busy this summer!

Seek and Hide Sardines has brought endless joy and laughter to our family game nights! As a group game for ages 5+ with 4-16 players, it’s perfect for gatherings with kids and adults alike. The concept of hiding together with a singing fish named Seraphina is hilariously goofy and unique. The gameplay is simple yet thrilling. One player hides with the squirming and singing Seraphina, while the others try to find them. As more players discover the hiding spot, they join in, trying to keep the fish quiet until the last player joins the group. It’s a fantastic way to encourage active movement and social interaction.Seraphina, the plush singing fish, is a scene-stealer! Her obnoxious operatic songs and wriggling movements add an amusing challenge to the game. The set includes a rechargeable singing fish and a USB cable for easy recharging. We’ve played this game during family game nights, birthday parties, and even outdoor gatherings. It’s versatile, entertaining, and an absolute hit with kids and adults alike. The game fosters collaboration, laughter, and bonding among players. It’s a wonderful addition to any toy collection for boys and girls aged 5+. My daughter and her friends (7-8yrs old) have already been playing sardines a lot so when we purchased this game, it was SO FUN! They thought it was so funny when the fish would randomly start singing and they would freak out, trying to make it stop. Hours of fun and laughter!

  15. GEC –

This has been a fun game for grandma’s house. When the older cousins visit with the younger ones they love to play Sardines. It always brings lots of laughs. The younger kids get the giggles when the sardine starts to sing. They fumble with the sardine, trying to stop it. If they weren’t surprised and giggling so much, the sardine would be very easy to turn off. It’s fun to watch them play this game together.

  16. Customer –

We had a rainy day at the lake so I decided to bust out this game for all the young cousins to play. It was an absolute blast. I don’t think I have ever heard 12+ kids (age 10 and under) get so quiet so fast when trying to listen for the fish. It was highly entertaining to watch as adults and some even got in on the action. This is defiantly a game that needs quite a few people to play.

  17. Barbara H. –

Kids laughed and played all day!

  18. Ash.marsh_1 –

Not gonna lie, I was a little skeptical about this at first… it creeped me out ?? But when I gave it to my boys and explained to them what they needed to do to play, the laughs never ended! They had a blast taking turns hiding with the fish and just thought the noses he made and songs he sang were hilarious. Definitely recommend for the kiddos!

  19. Hibou –

I got this for our 5 year old and she debuted it right away at her Girl Scouts summer party, it was a big hit and the big and little girls both played with it together ages 5 through 14. It is easy to use by all ages and I would purchase this again.

Seek and Hide Sardines by Starlux is a Super Fun and Hilarious Twist to the Typical Sardines Game. Not only did the Kids find the game Hilarious, but the Adults too! You never know when the Sardine “Saraphina” is going to start singing, and it takes a special tap/squeeze to get her to stop. It’s perfect for indoor and outdoor play, and as little as 2 people up to 10+ people. It was definitely the best game we took camping this year!

  21. Pokemom –

My kids loved the game. It would be great for a big yard or big house. Mine is small so a little hard to play in the instructed way. The fish sings and shakes to give away your hiding spot, you have to slap it to make it be quiet which the kids find hilarious. I would buy as a gift.

  22. Curtis C. –

This was a cute fun game. Kids really enjoyed it. It is well made and the instructions where easy to understand. It would make a cute gift. It is alot of fun to play when the kids have friends over. Highly recommend!

  23. Boymom –

I played this will all 4 of my boys, and it was really fun! My boys have always liked sardines, but Seraphina added a little craziness and extra fun. When we first opened the box and started letting her sing, they were laughing so hard. Fun twist on a classic game.

  24. Michelle –

this elevates the game to a whole new level of ridiculous fun. the kids love this and we have a lot of property at my sister’s to play on, so this is perfect and we all have a blast with this, adults included. If you are considering this purchase, I would highly recommend it, you will not regret it. It is hours of fun and it never gets old! This would also make a fabulous gift!

  25. Stephanie . –

We had never played sardines but was given the name of this game as a suggestion from a friend. We had so much fun trying to be quiet and not laugh ! I lost track of how many times we played !! The family that plays together stays together !!!!

  26. Ann –

The concept is so silly and simple yet it adds so much to the game of Sardines! Kids and adults thought this was hilarious! Nothing gets your anxiety pumping faster than a screaming fish when you’re trying to quietly hide! Thanks for the laughs Starlux!

  27. Rae D. –

Seek and hide sardines game is as described. She is brightly colored with a devious look in her eye. Probably don’t turn her on till you have found your hiding spot. She comes with a usb cord to charge with and is charged quickly. This fish lights up, flaps it’s tail and sings loudly off key. Tapping her doesn’t always work and sometimes she starts right in again with her noise. I think tweens and teens would be a perfect age to play this. With a big group of friends this is sure to bring plenty of laughter and fun.

  28. Robert M. –

This is an adorable Seek and Hide Sardines Game! Hours of fun for kids and adults. Cute little fish that sings and makes silly noises that freaks you out when you want to be hidden. Lots of laughs and good times playing this game. Love that this fish is rechargeable.

    Great game!!

  30. Sydney K. –

It’s fun once you understand the purpose of the fish!! Like hide and seek, plus a Jack in the box toy! Makes playing sardines more fun for the person hiding too! – Idk who did the voice over, but its funny and LOUD! hahaha very fun addition to the toy box!

  31. J.G. –

Is this the fish version of Chatterbox?? If you switch the fish on, it starts a mix of singing/crying/yelling and it doesn’t stop. The instructions say tap it’s tummy to make it stop IT WON’T. It will get quiet for 3-5 seconds in between singing though. This is a great gift to get for parents you want to annoy, because kids will LOVE THIS singing fish!

  32. Customer –

Got this to play with the youth at my church. It is definitely a fun twist on the classic game sardines and hide and seek.

  33. Casey D. –

Easy way to keep kids entertained. It’s a hilarious version of a simple game that will make everyone laugh!

  34. Shane W. –

What I absolutely love about this product is the fresh take it offers up to the concept of Hide and Seek. You’re essentially playing the game in reverse with this ridiculous, singing fish to keep quiet. Someone hides with the fish, then it’s up to everyone else to find (and hide with) the fish holder. Last person to find the group loses. So, yes, I really do like this concept. But there are notable drawbacks; primarily that a small hiding arena will cause this to be way less fun (more obvious where people are running to hide), and you’re paying the $25 list price for a singing fish doll. The concept is certainly fun, but not to the point that this becomes a worthwhile purchase at full price. Additionally, there’s only a single game mode to be had here, and (though it’s a lot of fun for a while) groups won’t turn to it quite as often as time goes on. This is to say that returns diminish here in a noticeable way.In any case, this is something that’s fun to have around on occasion. Even adults can easily enjoy this. And if it weren’t for that high price point, I could see thinking of this as a 4-star product. As it stands though, the cost-benefit analysis (alongside the overly simple nature of the game) leaves me at 3 stars; where I’d only recommend it on sale, and to a particular type of shopper.

Unique take on hide and seek. Someone hides with the sardine and attempts to keep it quiet and as others find them, they join the hider. The sardine lights up as well so playing in the dark is fun.
